The main offshore transfer of your personal information will be to the company that provides the platform for our website and online shop, Shopify. Due to Shopify’s global operations, it is not practicable to specify all countries to which they may disclose your personal information. If you are concerned about the disclosure of your personal information to overseas recipients, please contact us directly using the contact details set out in section 13.

 

 

 

  1. HOW IS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION SECURED?

We understand you have entrusted us with the protection of your personal information. As such, we take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Where possible, we will ask that any third parties, to whom we may transfer your information or who collect your information on our behalf, take comparable steps to secure your personal information.

Although we will use all reasonable efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of any user information collected, we shall have no liability for disclosure of any user information obtained due to errors in transmission or the unauthorised acts of third parties. Email is not a secure form of communication. Please do not send us your personal information via email.

We use the SecurePayTech payment gateway allowing customers to see their credit card authorisation take place in real time. The SecurePayTech service use 256-bit encryption technology and meets the required PCI-DSS security standards, meaning your information is protected as your payment is processed.

Our website may contain links to other sites that are not under our control. These websites have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. We have no responsibility for linked websites, and provide them solely for your information and convenience.

 

 

  1. ACCESS TO AND CORRECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

You can access or correct your personal information by contacting us at shop@47frocks.co.nz. Please ensure that as part of your written request for access or correction that you provide adequate detail that identifies what personal information you want access to or corrected. Where your request will require us to incur costs, we may charge you an access fee to cover those costs (e.g. staff costs in searching for, locating and retrieving the requested personal information). We, of course, will inform you of any such charges prior to them being incurred.

In certain circumstances, we may refuse to provide you access to your personal information. Where we refuse you access, we will provide you with a written explanation as to the reasons for the rejection. For example, we may reject your application where we consider giving access would have an unreasonable impact on the privacy of other individuals.

Whenever reasonable, we will update your personal information where you notify us that the information we hold is no longer accurate, complete or up to date.

Our online platform and software is provided by Shopify. Shopify collect and stores the personal information collected from you on our behalf.  We do not authorise Shopify to use or distribute the information they collect.

If you are dissatisfied with our response to your complaint and believe that we may have breached applicable New Zealand privacy laws, you may refer your complaint to the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner.
